The Scholarship and Mentoring program aims to provide better opportunities for the education and development of a disadvantaged group, viz students and children with disabilities, and to help them gain better awareness of their rights and responsibilities. DRD believes that by education, people with disabilities will be able to:

• learn about social norms and improve their attitudes and behavior.
• acquire life skills and become more self-confident.
• self-affirm, and enhance the community’s perception of disability.
• find a suitable job that earns them a living sufficient to support their family, and to contribute to the development of the country.
